Downloading SOLIDWORKS Simulation Results from the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

After saving SOLIDWORKS Simulation results along with the associated SOLIDWORKS model on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you can search for these database objects in the collaborative space in which they are saved, and download them directly in SOLIDWORKS.

To download SOLIDWORKS Simulation results from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform:

  1. Activate the 3DEXPERIENCE add-in.
  2. Activate the SOLIDWORKS Simulation add-in.
  3. Optional: In the Simulation System Options - General tab, select System Options > General > Load all simulation studies when opening a model (requires more time to open a model).
When you select this option, the simulation results load from the local cache folder when you open the SOLIDWORKS model. If this option is cleared, the simulation results load at the time when you activate the simulation study.
  4. In the MySession widget on the 3DEXPERIENCE task pane, do the following:
    1. Select the collaborative space where you saved the SOLIDWORKS models with the associative simulation results (*.cwr) file.
    2. Click Search.
    3. In the expanded top search tab, click the down arrow and select My Content.
A list of all database objects stored in the selected collaborative space appears. This list contains one or more of the following object types:
      • SOLIDWORKS models, tagged as physical products
      • 3DEXPERIENCE geometry models, tagged as physical products
      • SOLIDWORKS Simulation results (*.cwr) files saved on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as database objects, tagged as Non-PS Representation Reference
    4. From the list of database objects, select the required SOLIDWORKS model (tagged as a physical product). Click the down arrow to the right of the selected model and select Open.
      The model opens in SOLIDWORKS.
  5. Click a simulation study tab to view the results.
