Overriding Parent Sheet Metal Parameters

All bodies in multibody sheet metal parts inherit the bend radius values, thickness values, and material parameters from the sheet metal parent folder. You can override the inherited values. Auto relief values are not affected.

The values in the sheet metal parent folder are determined by the first sheet metal body you create in the part.

To control the overriding of parent sheet metal parameters:

  1. In the FeatureManager design tree, expand the Sheet Metal folder.
  2. Right-click a Sheet-Metaln feature and click Edit Feature menu_Edit_Feature.gif.
  3. In the PropertyManager, under Sheet Metal Parameters, select or clear Use body material sheet metal parameters.
When selected, you can set a material for the body that is different from the parent. When cleared, no sheet metal material parameters are used with the body.
  4. In the PropertyManager, under Bend Parameters, select or clear Override default parameters.
  5. In the PropertyManager, under Bend Allowance:
    1. Select or clear Override default parameters.
    2. If you select Override default parameters, under Bend Allowance enter the bend allowance for the dependent sheet metal features.
