Selecting Mechanical Toolbox Settings

The Toolbox - Settings dialog box lets you specify basic settings for Mechanical Toolbox features.

The settings are saved in profiles.

The setting categories are:

  • Annotations
  • Hardware
  • Holes
  • Tables

To access the Toolbox - Settings dialog box, do one of the following:

  • Click Mechanical Toolbox > Settings or Settings (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar).

    In the Toolbox - Settings dialog box, expand the category of settings and the type of settings to modify.

  • In a Toolbox dialog box, click Settings.

    The Settings dialog box opens to the settings that are appropriate to the task you are doing.

    For example, if you open the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box to insert a nut and click Settings, the Toolbox - Settings dialog box opens to the Nuts settings for the Hardware category.

    The following dialog boxes have a Settings button:

    • Toolbox - Hardware
    • Toolbox - Holes
    • Toolbox - Surface Finish Symbols
    • Toolbox - Weld Symbols
  • Select a Mechanical Toolbox command from the Mechanical Toolbox menu or Mechanical Toolbox toolbar. In the Command window, for Options, specify Settings and press Enter.

    For example, click Mechanical Toolbox > Balloon > Insert. In the Command window, type Settings. The Toolbox - Settings dialog box opens to the Balloon settings for the Annotations category

    The following commands include the Settings option:

    • Mechanical Toolbox > Holes > Callout
    • Mechanical Toolbox > Holes > Table Create
    • Mechanical Toolbox > Balloon > Insert
