You can
use the -AM_Layer command to manage layers and Mechanical layer
definitions.
It is
the command line variant of the
AM_Layer command. You can use the
-AM_Layer command
transparently.
To manage Mechanical
Layers:

Enter
-AM_Layer in the Command
window.

Specify an option:
- Layer. Lets you
create, delete, and rename layers and layer definitions, change layer
properties, and add layer descriptions. Use the following options:
- Set.
Designates the active layer. The layer must already exist. If
the layer is turned off, it is turned on and made active. You
cannot make a frozen layer active.
- Make.
Creates a layer from a layer definition and makes it active.
Specify the layer name.
- New.
Creates a layer from a Mechanical layer definition. Specify the
layer name. The option does not make the new layer active.
- Freeze.
Freezes Mechanical layers.
- Thaw.
Thaws frozen Mechanical layers.
- Lock.
Locks Mechanical layers.
- Unlock.
Unlocks mechanical layers.
- Selection
set. Selects all entities on the specified layer
as part of a selection set. Use the Previous option when prompted to specify
entities in a subsequent editing command to apply the selection
set.
- Highlight. Highlights all entities on the selected
layers.
- ? to
list. Shows a list of layers and Mechanical layer
definitions in the command window. It lists layer names, states,
LineColors, LineStyles, LineWeights, and external dependencies
to externally referenced drawings.
- Entity keys.
Looks up the layer assigned to an entity and defines it as current.

Enter ? to list the
entity types and entity keys.
