Example of Comparing Mirror Type Options

This example compares the mirror type options when you mirror a valve subassembly onto a second pipe.

To compare the Mirror Type options:

  1. Open a model that contains a subassembly to mirror.
  2. Click Linear Component Pattern > Mirror Components (Assembly toolbar).
  3. In the PropertyManager, select the following items:
    1. For Mirror plane, select a plane.
    2. For Component to Mirror, select the valve subassembly.
  4. Click Next to Step 2: Set Orientation.
  5. Under Orient Components, select X mirrored, Y mirrored .
  6. Under Mirror Type, select an option.
    1. Optional: Click View > Hide/Show to view the bounding box, center of mass, or origins in the graphics area.

    The distance between the mirror plane and the center of the bounding box is equal for the seed and the mirrored instance.

    Center of mass

    The distance between the mirror plane and the center of mass is equal for the seed and the mirrored instance.

    Component origin

    The distance between the mirror plane and the origin is equal for the seed and the mirrored instance.
