Uploading a File to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

The My Work folder handles file management as you upload and download files between your computer and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

When you install the Design with SOLIDWORKS app, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform adds a folder to your computer to store local copies of files that upload to and download from the platform. The default location is C:\3DEXPERIENCE\My Work.

When you upload a file to the platform, the file is copied to the My Work folder on your computer and stored in a collaborative space on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. A collaborative space is a storage area that manages version control for shared files.

The Design with SOLIDWORKS app saves the file in the default collaborative space. You can specify another collaborative space to store the file from the list in MySession.

To upload a file to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform:

  1. In MySession, save the file by:
    • Right-clicking the file and clicking Save.
    • In the action bar, clicking Save Active Window.
  2. In the Copy to C:\3DEXPERIENCE\My Work folder dialog box, click Copy.
To maintain a copy of the file attributes in a .csv file, click Export.

To save multiple files and folders in one step, see Saving Multiple SOLIDWORKS Files to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
