Overview of Multibody Parts
Part documents can contain multiple solid bodies. You can manipulate
multibody solid bodies the same way you manipulate single solid bodies.
You can create multiple solid bodies from a single feature by:
Extruding a boss or a cut (including thin features)
Revolving a boss or a cut (including thin features)
Sweeping a boss or a cut (including thin features)
Lofting a boss or a cut (including thin features)
Cutting a surface
Thickening a boss or a cut (including thin features)
Creating a cavity
Inserting a rib
See Programming Multibody
Parts for details.
NOTE: Multibody
parts are not intended to be a substitute for assemblies. Instead, one
part should represent one part number on a Bill of Materials. For more
information about multibody parts, modeling techniques, and features,
see SOLIDWORKS Help.
