XML Export

In this chapter, the generic term Report is used to refer both to Reports and Design rules. These two report types are based on the same features and are managed in the same way.

Report management: XML export

Design rule management: XML export

XML Export lets you generate data in the form of text files.

Add created files to project: Creates XML files in the storage directory for the electrical project and adds them to the project as data files (or updates them if they already exist). If this option is not activated, the XML files are generated in your defined directory.

Target folder: Enter the target folder for the files. Click on the [...] button. If the Add created files to project option is activated, you must select a folder or a book in the electrical project. If not, you will be asked to select a directory on your disk.

Export all reports: Select this to export all reports of the electrical project. You can also select the reports you want to export in the list.

Open file: Opens the generated file in the application associated with XML files.

The exported TXT files, if they are in the pages of the electrical project, are automatically updated when you run some commands, such as printing, exporting to PDF files, or new revision creation. They can also be updated using the Update exported report in their contextual menu.
