Managing bridges
SOLIDWORKS Electrical
allows you to link two or more terminals using bridges (or jumper). Two
methods are available to create bridges, manual or automatic.
Create manually a bridge
You can manually create a bridge, in the graphical interface by using
the contextual menu of the wire you want to manage as a bridge or in the
terminal strip editor, directly on the terminals.
Contextual menu of wires
To create a bridge in the graphical interface, use the contextual menu
of a wire (Create / Delete bridges).
When the command is launched, the dockable panel displays options to create
or delete a bridge.
To create a bridge, select the wires in the graphical area, on which
you want to add a bridge. To select several wires, use the [Ctrl]
key. The selected wires appear in the table of the dockable panel. The
Delete button allows you
to remove one of the selected wires.
Terminal strip editor
To create a bridge in the terminal strip editor, select the terminals
you want to link in their bridge column. You can use the
Bridges command in the Advanced
menu or use the Create bridges
command in the contextual menu.
Automatic bridges
The Automatic mode creates a
bridge on the terminals which are connected on the same equipotential.
In the Terminal strip management
in the Bridge creation column,
select in the list the mode you want to associate to each terminal strip.
Manual: The Automatic
creation mode is disabled and the bridges are manually created by the
user.
Automatic: All the terminals
which are connected in the same equipotential are automatically linked.
Automatic, only consecutive:
It's the same mode as previous, but only on consecutive terminals.
You can also select the bridge creation mode in the Terminal strip properties.
Bridges graphical representation
When the terminal strips are drawn, SOLIDWORKS Electrical
uses configuration
parameters. The bridges are represented by a line and points linking
two or more terminals.
