The Subsurface Appearance Type works in high quality rendering modes only. It is useful for substances such as milk, teeth, some stones, and honey.
Parameters
Absorption |
Sets the color that is absorbed as light passes through the appearance. |
Scattering |
Sets the degree of bouncing light within the appearance. More scattering makes a cloudier appearance. |
Reflection |
Sets the color of light that bounces off the appearance's surface. |
IOR (Index of Refraction) |
Sets the surface reflectivity and diffraction. |
Color Density |
Determines the density of the color on the applied object. |
Roughness |
Controls the highlight size in reflected light. The rougher the appearance, the more it diffuses the highlight (the larger and less focused the highlight becomes). |
