Copy Location and Copy Transformation Examples

Let's take an example. The starting location is the following:

  • Blue is the parent of Yellow, and Green is the parent of Gray.
  • Blue and Yellow have been transformed, with Red being their neutral position.
  • Gray is the selected actor to which Copy Location or Copy Transformation is applied, and Yellow is the target actor.
Icon Command Name


Copy Location in World Coordinate System
Moves Gray to exactly the same location as Yellow.


Copy Location in Parent
Moves Gray to the same location relative to its parent ( Green) as Yellow is relative to its parent ( Blue).


Copy Transformation in World Coordinate System
Applies the Yellow transformation relative to its neutral position ( Red) to Gray.


Copy Transformation in Parent
Applies the Yellow transformation relative to its parent ( Blue) to Gray.
