Properties

Display Sets the side of the reference line to display the welding information.

Select one of the following:

Arrow side

Welding information appears below the reference line. Instructions that appear on the arrow side of the welding symbol correspond with the arrow side of the base metal to be welded.

Other side

Welding information appears above the reference line, opposite the arrow side. Instructions that appear on the other side of the welding symbol correspond with the other side of the base metal to be welded.

Both sides

Welding information appears on both sides of the reference line.

Symbol type Sets the type of weld for the welder to deposit into the joint.
Finish symbol Specifies how the welder should complete the weld joint.
Contour symbol Specifies how the welder should shape the finished weld bead.
Size & number Sets the size and number of the welds.

These fields are weld-type specific. The number field is not available for grooves, fillets, or flanges.

Length & pitch Sets the length and spacing of the welds.
Angle & root Set the angle of the groove at the weld root of the two work pieces.

The weld root is the point at which the base metals are closest together.

Abbreviation Activates the drop-down list so that you can select a standard abbreviation. For example, AC (Arc cutting), CAC-A (Air carbon arch cutting) or BB (Block brazing).
Text Lets you type specifications in the text box.

Use this option when you want to add multiple instructions.

All around Adds an all around designation to the weld symbol.
Field weld Instructs the welder to perform a weld job on a job site, not in the welding shop.
Stagger Indicates an intermittent weld that requires a sequence of welds on each side of the joint that do not line up evenly with each other.

This option is only available when the Symbol type is Fillet and Display is set to Both sides.
