Command -AM_Layergroup

You can use the -AM_Layergroup command to manage layergroups and layergroup properties.

It is the command line variant of the AM_Layergroup command. You can use the AM_Layergroup command transparently.

To manage layergroups and layergroup properties:

  1. Enter -AM_Layergroup in the Command winodw.
  2. Specify an option:
    • Layergroup. Lets you create, delete, and rename layergroups and change layergroup properties.

      See layergroup options mentioned in the table.

    • Entity keys. Lets you locate the layer assigned to an entity in the current layergroup and specifies it as current.
  3. Specify the ? option to list entity types and entity keys.
  4. Press Enter.

Layergroup Options

The following table explains Layergroup options.

Column Description
? to list Lists all layergroups.
Make Creates a layergroup and makes it current. You are prompted to specify a layergroup name.
Set Specifies the layergroup to make current. You are prompted to specify the layergroup name. You cannot make a frozen layergroup current.
New Creates a layergroup. You are prompted to specify a layergroup name.
Freeze Freezes layergroups, making entities on them invisible.
Thaw Thaws frozen layergroups, which makes objects on them visible and available for plotting.
Lock Locks layergroups, which prevents you from editing entities on them.
Unlock Unlocks layergroups, which allows you to edit entities on them.
LColor Changes the LineColors associated with layergroups. You are prompted to specify a color name or number.
LStyle Changes the LineStyle associated with layergroups.
LWeight Changes the LineWeight associated with layergroups.
Rename Renames a layer group. You are prompted to specify the layergroup to rename and a new name.
Selection set Selects all entities on the specified layergroup as part of a selection set. Use the Previous option when prompted to specify entities in a subsequent editing command to apply the selection set.
Highlight Highlights all entities on the specified layers.
