You can
use the Layers category of the Toolbox -
Settings dialog box to map and manage predefined layers to basic entity types
or to mechanical toolbox parts, symbols, and
tables.
You
can specify a predefined layer for each category of entities. A predefined layer
specifies a set of predefined settings such as layer color, lineweight, and
linetype. The Mechanical command creates the entity on the predefined layer. If the
predefined layer does not exist, the command automatically creates the layer. Layers
that
the
command
creates
are
named mechanical layers.
- To manage predefined layers:
- Do one of the following:
- On the ribbon, click .
- On the menu, click .
- Type AM_Settings.
- In the dialog box, click Layers.
- To turn predefined layers on, in the Toolbox - Settings dialog box, on the
Layers tab, select Enable predefined layering.
- To assign a predefined layer to a mechanical entity:
- Do one of the following:
- On the ribbon, click .
- On the menu, click .
- Type AM_Settings.
- In the dialog box, click Layers.
- In the Layers
tab, select Enable predefined
layering.
- In
the Entity
list, expand the category corresponding to the
entity type.
- In the row corresponding of the entity to modify,
click in the Layer
column.
- In the Select
Layer dialog box, select an existing layer or create
a new one.
- To select an existing layer, select the
corresponding line and click OK.
- To create a new layer, do the following:
- Click New.
- In the Name
column, enter the name of the new layer.
- Click OK.
- Optional:
In
LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight,
specify the properties to apply for the entities.
