Editing Toolbox BOMs

The Edit BOM command lets you select a BOM and recreate it, delete it, or edit its rows.

You can also modify BOM data by editing balloons and change the BOM format by changing balloon settings.

Recreating a BOM

You can recreate a BOM to update it when you add or delete balloons, or change the active dimension style.

Edits to balloons are reflected in the BOM immediately without requiring you to recreate the BOM.
  1. Click Edit BOM (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > BOM > Edit.
The Command window prompts you to specify the header of the BOM table to edit.
  2. Click in the table header.
  3. In the Command window, type R and press Enter.
The BOM updates to reflect your changes.
  4. Press Enter to exit the command.

Deleting a BOM

  1. Click Edit BOM (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > BOM > Edit.
The Command window prompts you to specify the header of the BOM table to edit.
  2. Click in the table header.
  3. In the Command window, type D and press Enter.
    The BOM is deleted.
  4. Press Enter to exit the command.
