Modifying Drawing Sheet Set Properties

Displays the properties of the selected drawing sheet set. This includes information about the drawing sheet set data file (.dst), drawing sheet creation template, and custom properties associated with the drawing sheet set.

The properties are grouped in categories.

Drawing Sheet Set

Displays the properties that you specified during creation, such as the path and the file name of the drawing sheet set data file (.dst).

• Model view. Displays the paths to the folders that contain drawings used by the drawing sheet set. Clicking Browse displays the Model view dialog box where you can add new folder locations or delete existing ones.
• Label block for views. Specifies a .dwt or .dwg file that contains the label blocks to use in the current drawing sheet set.
• Callout blocks. Specifies a .dwg file that contains the symbol used to reference other sheets.
• Page layout overrides file. Specifies a .dwt file that contains page layout that you can use to override the page layout in each sheet.

To add a folder location to the current drawing sheet set:

1. On the Sheet Set Manager palette, select the drawing sheet set from the drop-down list.
2. In the Drawing Sheet List, right-click the drawing sheet set and select Properties from the context menu.
3. In the Drawing Sheet Set Properties dialog box, in Model view, click .
4. In the Model View dialog box, click Add.

   Note: To delete an existing folder location, click Delete.

5. Navigate to the folders that contain the drawings to make accessible for the current drawing sheet set.
6. Click Select Folder.

   The specified folder location appears in the list.

   You can specify as many folder locations as necessary.

7. Click OK.

To change the default block used for drawing sheet view labels:

1. On the Sheet Set Manager palette, select the drawing sheet set from the drop-down list.
2. In the Sheet Views tab, right-click the drawing sheet set and select Properties from the context menu.
3. In the Drawing Sheet Set Properties dialog box, in Label block for views, click .
4. In the Select Block dialog box, click and specify the drawing file that contains the block to use as the default view label block.
5. Specify an option:
   • Select the drawing file as a block. Lets you use the entire specified .dwg or .dwt file as the block definition.
   • Choose blocks in the drawing file. Lets you specify a block definition from the specified .dwg or .dwt file. The Preview area displays a preview of the specified block.

     Note: Use Shift or Ctrl to specify more than one block.

6. Click OK.

To add a block for sheet view callouts:

1. On the Sheet Set Manager palette, select the drawing sheet set from the drop-down list.
2. On the Sheet Views tab, right-click the drawing sheet set.
3. In the Drawing Sheet Set Properties dialog box, in Callout blocks, click .
4. In the List of Blocks dialog box, do one of the following:
   • Specify a block from the list.
   • Click Add and specify a new block to add to the list.
5. Click OK.

Project Control

Groups common project properties, such as Project number, Project name, Project phase, and Project milestone.

Drawing Sheet Creation

Specifies the path of the folder that contains the drawing files associated with the drawing sheet set and the default drawing sheet creation template.

The Prompt for template option lets you specify whether to use the default template for all sheets from the drawing sheet set or to specify a different template at sheet creation time.

You can use a default one or specify the sheet creation template every time you create a sheet in a drawing sheet set or subset.

To specify the drawing sheet creation template file:

1. On the Sheet Set Manager palette, select the drawing sheet set from the drop-down list.
2. In the Drawing Sheet List, right-click the drawing sheet set and select Properties from the context menu.
3. In the Drawing Sheet Set Properties dialog box, in Drawing sheet creation template, click .
4. In the Select Sheet as Drawing Sheet Template dialog box, do the following:
   1. Click .
   2. Navigate to the .dwt file to use as template and click Open.

      The dialog box displays the list of sheets from the specified .dwt file.

   3. Select the sheet to use as template for new drawing sheets of the drawing sheet set.
   4. Click OK.
5. Click OK.
6. Optionally, in Prompt for template, select Yes to specify the sheet creation template every time you create a sheet in the drawing sheet set.

Drawing Sheet Set Custom Properties

Displays the user-defined custom properties associated with the drawing sheet set.

Note: You can use custom properties as fields in your drawings. For example, define custom properties and insert them as fields in titleblocks.

Drawing Sheet Custom Properties

Displays the user-defined custom properties associated with each sheet in the drawing sheet set.

Edit Custom Properties

Displays the Custom Properties dialog box where you can specify new custom properties or delete existing ones.

To specify custom properties:

1. In the Drawing Sheet Set Properties dialog box, click Edit Custom Properties.
2. In the Custom Properties dialog box, click Add.
3. In Add Custom Property dialog box, do the following:
   • In Name, specify the name of the custom property.
   • In Default value, specify the value for the custom property.
   • In Owner, specify whether the custom property corresponds to a drawing sheet set or to a drawing sheet.
4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each property you want to create.
5. Click OK.
6. In the Custom Properties dialog box, click OK.

   The new custom properties appear in the corresponding list.

To delete custom properties from the drawing sheet set properties list:

1. In the Drawing Sheet Set Properties dialog box, click Edit Custom Properties.
2. In the Custom Properties dialog box, select the property and click Delete.
3. Click OK.
