You can dissolve subassemblies into individual components, thereby moving the components up one level in the assembly hierarchy.
To dissolve subassemblies:
In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click a subassembly or Ctrl + select multiple assemblies and select Dissolve Subassembly. You can also select the subassembly icon and click .
The components become components of the immediate parent assembly, and the subassembly is removed. The assembly document itself is not deleted from the folder where it is stored.
To dissolve a subassembly from the graphics area, right-click the subassembly and click Select Subassembly. Then right-click in the graphics area and click Dissolve Subassembly.
See Effects of Assembly Structure Editing for effects on mates, component patterns, assembly features, equations, and explode steps.
Example
| In this example, when you dissolve subassembly S1, components P1 and P2 become components of the top-level assembly A.
|
 |
| Instead of referencing the subassembly document S1, assembly A now references the individual component documents P1 and P2.
|
 |
| Any mates that exist between components P1 and P2 move to the Mates folder of assembly A.
