A project snapshot is a .TEWZIP archive embedded in the project folder.
This is the full content of a electrical project database and files, not only a differential
compared to the previous snapshot.
A snapshot can contain the external dependencies of the electrical project
(library items such as used symbols or title blocks). A snapshot is an electrical
project backup done at a special time, such as a new revision index creation. The
snapshot offers the possibility to restore an old version of the electrical project, it
must not be confused with the electrical project archive.
Snapshot and Electrical Project Archive Comparison
Area |
Snapshot |
Electrical Project Archive |
Folder and filename |
The TEWZIP file is saved automatically in a directory
depending on the project folder. The snapshot filename is
automatically managed by the software. |
The electrical project filename (TEWZIP) and the saved folder
are managed by the user. |
Dependencies (All elements used to create the electrical
project, such as symbols or title blocks) |
When you create a snapshot you can include (or not) the
dependencies. If the snapshot is restored in the same
workstation, it is not necessary to include the
dependencies. |
The dependencies are automatically included in the archive
file. |
Management |
The snapshot files are managed automatically by the software
through the Snapshot Management dialog
box. |
The user has to manage by himself the electrical project
archived files. |
Electrical project exchange |
Do not use a snapshot file to exchange an electrical project
with another Company. |
Only use the electrical project archive to exchange the
electrical project with another Company (contains
dependencies). |
