Creating Mate References

This wizard option lets you select the component mates to position it in its installation.

You can access Electrical Components Wizard from:
  • SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D menu: Electrical Components Wizard .
  • In the menu, click Tools > SOLIDWORKS Electrical > Electrical Components Wizard .

To create mate references:

  1. In the Mate Reference section of the wizard, select Reference Name.
  2. For Mate Reference Type, select the following:
    • Default. Not available for SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D Routing (SOLIDWORKS routing only).
    • For Rail. Inserts the component on a rail. Two mates are required, the top face and the front face of the rail.
    • For cabinet. Inserts the component on the background of the cabinet. Select the back face of the component.
    • For Cabinet Door. Inserts the component on the cabinet door. Select the component face in reference with the outside face of the cabinet door.
  3. Click Add to access the interface allowing you to select the required mate references.
    You can also use Edit and Delete to manage existing mates.
  4. Click to validate and return to the wizard.
