SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D - Exercise 7

In this exercise, you route a harness that has connectors, wires, and a cable. To understand the composition of this harness, open or preview the two schematic drawings and open the Harness management to see the details of the harness.

Download this harness electrical project that contains the required environment, then unarchive the electrical project.

Viewing the Harness Routing

To view the harness routing:

  1. To understand the composition of this harness, in the SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D Task Pane, right-click, and select Preview for Electrical schemes 04 and 05.
  2. Open the 06-Box assembly.

This assembly already contains the inserted connectors and the Route Path for the harness routing. You do not need to add them.

The flattened route appears on a drawing sheet.

  3. Drag the various tables to organize them on the drawing sheet.

Importing the 2D File into the Electrical Project

The sheet format must match the format specified in the electrical project configuration.

To import the 2D file:

  1. In the SOLIDWORKS Electrical 3D Task Pane, right-click the Harness and select Configuration.

You need to change the title block that is associated with the flattened routing.
