Terminal Properties

This topic explains the options of the Terminal Properties dialog box.

To access Symbol Properties, right-click a terminal and click Properties .

The Terminal properties appears after insertion.

Terminal Strip

Mark

The terminal strip mark is automatically calculated according to the electrical project settings. For more information, see Mark.
Option Description
Mode If you select Automatic, the mark is calculated automatically according to the configuration settings. If you select Manual, you must enter the mark manually in the Mark setting.
Mark Displays the automatic mark or lets you enter the manual mark.
Root Displays the root associated with the terminal strip depending on the terminal strip class.
Number Displays the order number assigned to the terminal strip. You can change this number but you cannot use an existing number.
Permanent component When the last symbol representing the terminal strip is deleted, the terminal strip is also deleted. If you check the Permanent component dialog box, the component is not deleted.

To delete a permanent component, use the Delete component command from the context menu, located in the tab in the dockable panel > Components.

Option Description
Class Lets you change the terminal strip classification. This is used when you assign a manufacturer part. It also allows you to define the root used during automatic marking.
Parent Displays the name of the main terminal strip that a child or sub component is dependent on.
Location / Function During symbol insertion, the location (function) is automatically taken from the drawing, or the location (function) outline if the symbol is inserted inside one. You can assign a different location (function) by clicking [...] and selecting the location (function) you want. For more information, see Locations and Functions.

Mark

Option Description

Root Displays the root associated with the terminal depending on the terminal class.
Number Displays the order number assigned to the terminal. You can change this number but you cannot use an existing number.
Permanent component When the last symbol representing the terminal is deleted, the terminal is also deleted. If you check the Permanent component dialog box, the component is not deleted.

Manufacturer Data

This data comes from the manufacturer part, but can be manually modified. The data types are specified in the definition of the class.

Description

The first translatable data field of the component. You can enter a description in all languages managed in the electrical project.

User Data / Translatable Data

The user data field is used to enter all information required to manage the component.
