Location Properties

This topic explains the options in the Location Properties tab. The dialog automatically opens during the creation of a new location.

To access the Location Properties, do one of the following:
  • Click Location management > Properties .
  • Right-click a location outline and click Location properties .

Mark

The location mark is automatically calculated according to the electrical project settings. For more information, see Mark.
  • Mode:
    • Automatic: The mark is automatically calculated according to the configuration settings.
    • Manual: Enter the mark manually in the Mark setting.
  • Mark: Displays the automatic mark or used to enter the manual mark.
  • Root: Displays the root associated with the locations (L).
  • Number: Displays the order number assigned to the location. You can change this number but you cannot use an existing number.

Hierarchy

  • Parent: The name of the main location, which a child or sub location is dependent on.
  • Associated book: Associates a location to a book.

Description

The first translatable data of the location. You can enter a description in all languages managed in the electrical project.

User Data / Translatable Data

The user data is available across the entire electrical project. It is used to store personal information, which can be displayed in the drawings. There are two types of user data: translatable user data (translated during project translation), and non-translatable user data.
The default location applied to drawings is taken from the location applied to the book that the drawings are created in.

Use Customize... to access and define the location user data.

Manufacturer Parts Tab

Use this tab to assign a manufacturer part to a location. For more information, see Assigning Manufacturer Parts.
