Creating Origin-Destination Arrows

You can create a continuity link between wires in different schematic drawings or in the same drawing. This could be for cables in line diagrams or wires in schematics.

The arrows generated by this command are manual origin-destination arrows.
  1. Click Schematic > Line diagram > Origin - Destination arrows or Schematic > Origin - Destination arrows .
The management dialog box is divided into two parts. The first part contains the Origin (Drawing 1) schematic and the second contains the Destination drawing (Drawing 2). You can zoom in on any part of the drawing using your mouse wheel to make it easier to select the wires to link. At the beginning of this command, Drawing 1 is active in the graphical area.
  2. The following commands are available for both Drawing 1 and Drawing 2.
    Option Description
Previous Lets you see the preceding drawing in the electrical project drawing list.
Next Lets you see the next drawing in the electrical project drawing list.
Selector Lets you open the drawing selector to select the drawing you want.
Previous drawing Lets you scroll through the previous electrical project drawings. Goes to the previous drawing for both the origin and destination drawings.
Next drawing Lets you scroll forward through the electrical project drawings. Goes to the next drawing for both the origin and destination drawings.
Origin symbol Lets you select the symbol to represent the origin arrow. SOLIDWORKS Electrical prevents you from selecting invalid symbol selections (for example a destination symbol).
Origin and destination symbols display the cross references between wires. They have specific attributes that propagate the drawing mark, the bundle mark, the row, and the column of the drawing or the equipotential number information.
Destination symbol Lets you select the symbol to represent the destination arrow. SOLIDWORKS Electrical prevents you from selecting invalid symbol selections (for example an origin symbol).
Origin and destination symbols display the cross references between wires. They have specific attributes that propagate the drawing mark, the bundle mark, the row, and the column of the drawing or the equipotential number information.
Horizontal Tile Lets you tile your display horizontally.
Vertical Tile Lets you tile your display vertically.
  3. To link from one wire to another wire:
    1. Click Single insertion .
    2. Click the end of a schematic wire or cable.
    3. Click the end of another schematic wire or cable.
  4. To link from one set of multiple wires to another set of multiple wires:
    1. Click Multiple insertion .
    2. On the origin drawing, click the first wire and the last wire of the starting set of multiwires.
    3. On the destination drawing, click the first wire and finish with the last wire of the terminating set of multiwires.
  5. To automatically generate an origin-destination arrow on two wires with the same mark, click Auto-connect .
The origin-destination arrow is automatically generated without requiring you to select a wire.
  6. To delete the origin-destination arrows, select the arrows to delete and click Delete .
While you delete a link, all the constituent elements of the link (origin and destination arrows, symbol, and text) are deleted. When you delete multiple insertions, select the first wire and the last wire and validate the deletion.
