Inserting Wires You can draw single and multiple types of wire. Contents About Wires There are two types of wires, single wires (Command wire type) and multiple wires (Power type). You use different commands to insert these two types of wire. Opening the Wire Style Selector There are two types of wires, single wires (Command wire type) and multiple wires (Power type). The two types of wire each have their own command. Inserting a Single Wire You can draw a single wire and specify the style. Inserting a Multiple Wire You can draw a wire that contains multiple wires within it, and specify the style. Equipotential Properties This topic explains the options in the Equipotential properties tab. Wire Properties This topic explains the options in the Wire properties dialog box. Displaying Wire Marks You can show or hide the text displaying the equipotential or wire marks. Displaying Cable Cores Text You can show or hide the cable mark text. Solving Equipotential Conflicts When designing or modifying a scheme, connecting wires that do not have the same equipotential sometimes lead to numbering conflicts. You can solve these conflicts manually. Propagating the Wire Style You can propagate the wire style for the selected segment to connected segments. The dockable panel displays the propagation options. Replacing the Wire Style You can replace a wire style used in the electrical project with another wire style. The dockable panel displays the options for selecting wires. Creating Origin-Destination Arrows You can create a continuity link between wires in different schematic drawings or in the same drawing. This could be for cables in line diagrams or wires in schematics. Creating Origin-Destination Arrows Automatically You can instruct SOLIDWORKS Electrical to automatically generate origin-destination arrows between wires with the same number. A specific symbol and configurable text string appears at the end of the wire according to the electrical project configuration. Insert Origin-Destination Symbol You can manually insert Origin - Destination arrow symbols at the end of the wires. You associate a group number with each inserted symbol. All the wires connected on the same group number have the same equipotential number. Parent topicWires
