Treehouse Tools

Zoom to Area Zooms to the selected area.
Zoom to Fit Zooms in or out so you can see the entire hierarchy.
Keep New Documents on Screen Specifies Treehouse to automatically pan to include new nodes when your hierarchy expands past the limits of the work area.
Display in a List View Shows the files in a list view.
New Creates a new Treehouse document.
Open Opens an existing Treehouse (.asmtree) document.
Save Saves the document as an .asmtree file.
Export to SOLIDWORKS Documents Creates SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies, and drawings documents from the nodes using the hierarchy you created.
Open in Excel Opens Treehouse structure in Microsoft Excel. In the Open in Excel dialog box, you can select:
  • Open Structure. Opens the entire Treehouse structure in Microsoft Excel. Parts and assemblies appear in an indented list.
  • Open Parts Only. Opens only parts from a Treehouse structure in Microsoft Excel.

Microsoft Excel opens with a spreadsheet of the entire structure or parts. The columns included in the spreadsheet are File Name, Active Configuration, Quantity, and Description. Each file property is displayed in its own column. The Quantity value for duplicate parts is shown for each instance in the structure.

Print Prints Treehouse structures on paper or to PDF.
Print Extents Prints to the extents of the structure.
Print Display Prints the part of the extents that are displayed. Use Zoom to Area to print a specific part of an extent.
Print Preview Shows a preview of the current print selection. The preview is based on the paper size, scale, and orientation.

Treehouse Map

The Treehouse Map displays the hierarchy. If the entire hierarchy is not visible in the work area, an orange box appears, showing which area is visible. Click the arrow to minimize the map.

Nodes

Part, assembly, and drawing nodes display information such as the number of instances, the file name, and the configuration name. To see these displays, pause the pointer over the node.

A Opens the Properties dialog box.
B Opens the Configuration dialog box.
C Displays when the part or assembly has a referenced drawing and Display drawings next to parent is selected in Treehouse Options. Click to display the drawing node.
D Displays the instance count of the component, including suppressed instances. Click to edit.
E Displays the number of suppressed component instances. Click to edit. Increase the number to suppress additional instances.
F Displays the file name. You can edit the file name in the Properties dialog box or by double-clicking the name.
G Displays the active configuration name. You can add configurations in the Configuration dialog box.

Additional User Interface Elements

A Expands or collapses child components. Shift+click to expand or collapse all child components, including subassemblies.
B Different configurations of the same component.
C Suppressed instances.
