Changing the Location of a Drawing

Each drawing is associated with a location when the drawing is created. By default, the location is associated with the book. You can change the location for drawings.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click a drawing and click Change location.
    • In Drawing properties, click Location
    • .
The location selection dialog box opens.
  2. Select a new location.
The components initially associated with the drawing's original location are associated with the new location.
  3. In the dialog box, specify the following options:

Change component location Components with the same location as the drawing are automatically associated with the new location. If the component was drawn on several drawings, all symbols representing the component are associated with the new location (even if the drawings are not affected by the change of location).

For terminal strips, only the location of the terminals is changed. The terminal strips are attached to remain in their initial location.

Change drawing location only The drawing itself is associated with the new location, and no changes are made to the content of the drawing.
Cancel Cancels the current command. No changes are made to the drawing or its content.
