Creating a Cover Page You can create a new cover page in an electrical project. Creating a Drawing You can create a new drawing in an electrical project. Creating Several Drawings You can create several drawings at one time on a large electrical project. Opening a Drawing You can open several drawings at the same time in the graphical area and switch between drawings by clicking tabs. Configuring Drawing Properties You can configure drawing properties in an electrical project. Previewing a Drawing You can preview the drawing in an electrical project. Rebuilding a Drawing You can update or recreate a drawing according to the data stored in the electrical project database. Changing the Location of a Drawing Each drawing is associated with a location when the drawing is created. By default, the location is associated with the book. You can change the location for drawings. Changing the Function of a Drawing Each drawing is associated with a function when the drawing is created. By default, the function is associated with the book. You can change the function for drawings. Searching for a Document You can find a page, drawing, or other item in all the pages of the electrical project. Moving a Drawing You can move drawings from one folder to another or between book or folder levels. You can also move entire folders. Renumbering Documents You can renumber all the documents of the electrical project, folders, books, and drawings. Copying and Pasting Drawings SOLIDWORKS Electrical has an integrated clipboard feature independent of Windows. The elements placed on the clipboard automatically replace those there previously. Browsing Drawings You can browse through the drawings in an electrical project. Deleting a Drawing You can delete one or more selected drawings. This includes deleting all the drawings in a book or folder at once. Data File SOLIDWORKS Electrical lets you manage any file type (such as PDF or Excel files). The only restriction is that you need to have a program installed that can open the file type. SOLIDWORKS Electrical automatically uses Windows associations to open these files. Adding a File Shortcut The File shortcut feature allows you to create a link to a personal file stored outside SOLIDWORKS Electrical. A file shortcut is added to the electrical project and it is displayed as a drawing or a data file in the Pages tab. Importing DWG Files You can import DWG files into SOLIDWORKS Electrical. If the file contains symbols or title blocks, the wizard allows you to establish a correspondence with symbols or title blocks. Drawing/Folder Selector You can select one or several drawings or a folder depending on the context. You can also create a new folder. Document Selector Some Electrical Schematic Design features require you to select project pages such as drawings, folders, or books. Managing the User Rights on an Electrical Project Data After having defined the different working groups and users in the interface configuration, you can manage the access rights on each book of the electrical project.
