«Detail» and «Detail Edit» Dialog Boxes

Use this dialog box to configure the properties of a detail view.

Detail scale

Lets you specify the scale for the detail view.

Selected area scale Displays the scale of the area within the detail boundary. The AMSYMSCALE system variable controls this scale.
Specify by absolute scale Lets you specify the enlargement scale for the detail by an absolute scale. You can select a predefined scale or specify a custom value.
Specify by factor Lets you specify a scale factor for the detail view. You can select a predefined scale factor or specify a custom value.
Lets you specify the scale automatically from a selected scale area or annotation.

Detail boundary

Groups properties of the boundary that determines the content of the detail view.

Identifier Specifies the text that identifies the detail view. You can specify an identifier from the list or type the text directly. The sign "-" creates a detail view without a label.
Move Lets you move the detail boundary
Annotation leader Adds a leader line to the label of the detail view. This option is not available for ANSI Inch standard.

Detail view

Groups additional properties of the detail view.

Label contents Displays the content of the label of the detail view. The label provides the following information:
  • Detail identifier
  • Detail scale

To configure the label content, click Field .

Create detail view in Specifies a location for the detail view:
  • Current space. Creates the detail view in Model space
  • Layout. Creates the detail view in the specified Sheet. The drop-down list displays the available sheets.
  • Model space and layout. Creates the detail view in both, Model space and the specified Sheet.

You cannot change the location of an existing detail view.

Displays the Field dialog box, which lets you add more detail view propertiesto the content of the label. The following detail view properties are available:

  • ViewScale. The scale of a model documentation detail view.
  • ViewType. Includes the type of the view in the detail view label. For example, when used in a section view label, it displays "Section".
  • ViewDetailId. Includes the detail view identifier that you specified in the Detail dialog box.

Settings

Displays the Modify Detail View Style dialog box where you can configure how to label the detail view.

Access

Command: AM_Detail, AM_DetailEdit

Menu: Mechanical Content > Details > Detail View > Create, Edit

Ribbon: Mechanical Content > Details > Detail View > Create, Edit
