Inserting a Revision

You can add the first revision to the master revision table when you create it. To add subsequent revisions, use the Toolbox Insert Revision option.

To insert a revision, the sheet you are working on must contain the master revision table or a reference to the master revision table.

  1. Click Insert Revision (Mechanical toolbar) or Mechanical Annotate > Revision Table > Insert Revision.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the current sheet contains the master revision table, the Toolbox - Add Revision dialog box opens.

      Go to step 3.

    • If the current sheet contains a reference to the master revision table, a message indicates that the sheet does not contain the revision table. Leave Activate "Sheet1" selected and click OK.

The sheet containing the master revision table opens and the Toolbox - Add Revision dialog box opens.

  3. Specify revision information in the Toolbox - Add Revision dialog box and click OK.

The REVISION field contains an automatically generated revision number that you can modify. Other fields are optional.

You are prompted to add a revision symbol.

  4. Locate the revision symbol by clicking in the graphics area or by typing coordinates in the Command window and pressing Enter.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Repeat step 4 to insert multiple revision symbols.
    • Press ESC to exit the command without adding a revision symbol.
