Embedding eDrawings Controls in Microsoft Office Documents

You can embed eDrawings controls in other documents as OLE objects.

To embed eDrawings controls in Microsoft Office documents:

  1. Open a new document in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.
  2. Click File > Options > Customize Ribbon.
  3. In the Word Options or PowerPoint Options dialog box:
    1. In Customize the Ribbon, select Main Tabs.
    2. Under Main Tabs, select Developer and click OK.
  4. On the Controls area of the Developer ribbon:
    • For Microsoft Word, click Legacy Tools > ActiveX Controls > More Controls.
    • For Microsoft PowerPoint, click More Controls.
  5. In the More Controls dialog box, select eDrawings version Control and click OK.
  6. Right-click the eDrawings Control box and select Properties.
  7. For FileName, browse to any eDrawings file, then click OK.
  8. Click EnableFeatures.
  9. In the Property Pages dialog box, specify options and click OK.
  10. Close the Properties dialog box.
  11. To view the eDrawings file:
    • For Microsoft Word, exit Design Mode.
    • For Microsoft PowerPoint, view the slide show.
