Applying Fixtures to Act as Restraints

Add fixtures to the free ends of the beams at the joints. One end has a pin and the other end has a roller.

1. Right-click the Fixtures folder and select Fixed Geometry.
2. Click Isometric on the Standard Views Toolbar to make sure you select the correct joints.
3. In the PropertyManager:
   1. Select Immovable (No translation) under Standard.
   2. Select the joint shown for Joints .
      
4. Click Keep visible to apply a roller at End B and click.
5. To apply a roller at End B:
   1. Select Use Reference Geometry under Standard.
   2. Select the joint shown for Joints .
      
   3. Select Front Plane from the flyout FeatureManager design tree for Face, Edge, Plane, Axis for Direction .
   4. Under Translations, click Along Plane Dir 1 and Along Plane Dir 2 to prevent translation in those directions.
   5. Click Keep visible to unpin the PropertyManager and click.
