Defining Bolts Between Reducer, Flange, and Regulator You define bolt connectors to bolt three solid components. Click the down arrow on Connections Advisor (Simulation CommandManager) and select Bolt. Under Type, select Standard or Counterbore with Nut . Click in Circular Edge of the Bolt Head Hole and select the edge as shown: Click in Circular Edge of the Bolt Nut Hole . The back edge of the hole is automatically selected. For Head Diameter , type the value 25.001 mm (1.5 * shank diameter). Under Connection Type, select Distributed. For Material, assign Alloy Steel (SS) from the SOLIDWORKS Materials library. Select Strength Data and do the following: Select Calculated Tensile Stress Area. Set Unit to threads/inch and for Thread Count , type 11. Under Bolt Strength, set Unit to N/m^2 and type 50000000. Expand Advanced Option and do the following: Select Bolt series Select the interior cylindrical face of the flange hole for Allow faces for bolt series . Click . When prompted to add bolt connectors to all holes in the hole series, click No. Automatic propagation of a bolt definition applies to bolt connectors between two components. Repeat steps 1 to 8 to add bolt connectors to the other three holes of the hole series. Click Keep Visible in the PropertyManager to keep adding bolt definitions without closing the PropertyManager.
