Defining Bolts Between Filter and Reducer You define bolt connectors between the filter and reducer parts and propagate the definition of one bolt connector to all holes in the hole series. Click the down arrow on Connections Advisor (Simulation CommandManager) and select Bolt. Under Type, select Countersink with Nut . Click in Conical Face and select a conical face of a hole as shown. Click in Circular Edge of The Bolt Nut Hole . The back edge of the hole is automatically selected. For Nut diameter , enter the value 23.812 mm (1.5 * shank diameter). Under Connection Type, select Distributed. Under Material: Click Select material. Assign Alloy Steel (SS) from the SOLIDWORKS Materials library and click Apply and Close. Select Strength Data and do the following: Select Calculated Tensile Stress Area. Set Unit to threads/inch and for Thread Count , enter 11. Under Bolt Strength, set Unit to N/m^2 and enter 50000000. To perform a pass/no pass check for a connector, you need to enter its tensile stress area by selecting Known Tensile Stress Area or let the program calculate its value by selecting Calculated Tensile Stress Area. Click . When prompted to add bolt connectors to all holes in the hole series, click Yes. Eight bolt connectors with the same properties are defined for the hole series.
