Specifying Contact Between the Two Blocks

Since the two blocks are expected to come into contact as the assembly is dropped, you specify a contact interaction between the blocks.

To define a contact set:

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click Connections and select Local Interaction .
  2. In the PropertyManager, under Type:
    1. Select Contact.
    2. Click in Faces, Edges, Vertices for Set 1 , then select the face shown in the figure below from the graphics area.
      Face <1> appears in the box.
    3. Click in Faces for Set 2 , then select the face shown in the figure from the graphics area.
      Face <2> appears in the box.

  3. Click .
    The program creates the contact set and a local interaction definition appears in the Connections folder.
