Applying Prescribed Displacements

You apply outward displacement of 7 mm on the face of the archwire and bring it back to zero.

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click Fixtures and select Advanced Fixtures.
  2. In the PropertyManager:
    1. Under Advanced (Use Reference Geometry), select Use Reference Geometry.
    2. Click inside the Faces, Edges, Vertices for Fixture box, then select the face shown in the figure.
    3. Click inside the Face, Edge, Plane, Axis for Direction box, then click the Front plane in the flyout FeatureManager design tree.
  3. Under Translations:
    1. Set Unit units.png to mm.
    2. Click Along Plane Dir 1 then type 7 in the value box.
    3. Select Reverse direction.
  4. Under Variation with Time, click Curve then click Edit.
  5. In the Time curve dialog box:
    1. In the Curve data box, type the following pairs of data under the X and Y columns respectively: (0,0), (1,1), and (2,0).
    2. Click OK.
    3. To view the actual displacement, click View.
  6. Close the graph window.
  7. In the PropertyManager, click PM_OK.gif to complete the definition of the displacement.
