Defining Contact Conditions

To define a contact set:

  1. In the SOLIDWORKS Simulation study tree, right-click the Connections icon and select Local Interaction.
  2. In the PropertyManager:
    1. Under Interaction, select Manually select local interactions.
    2. Set Type to Contact.
    3. Click inside the Faces, Edges, Vertices for Set 1 box , then select the outer cylindrical faces of the pipe as shown in the figure below (2 faces).
    4. Click inside the Faces for Set 2 box , then click the inner faces of the holder as shown in the figure (8 faces).
    5. Click .
