Defining Local Contact with Friction

You define a local contact pair with friction between the slider and the locker.

  1. In the Simulation study tree, right-click Connections and select Local Interaction .
  2. In the PropertyManager, under Interaction, select Manually select local interactions.
  3. Under Type, select Contact.
  4. Click in Faces, Edges, Vertices for Set 1 , then select the face of the slider shown in the figure.
  5. Click in Faces for Set 2 , then select the face of the locker shown in the figure.
  6. Select Coefficient of friction and accept the default value of 0.05.
  7. Under Advanced, select Node to surface, for contact formulation.
  8. Click .
    The local contact interaction is applied.
