Running the Initial Simulation Studies

  1. Browse to drive letter:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS version\samples\Simulation Examples\Optimization\Cantilever_Bracket.SLDPRT and open the file.
The study named ReadyOptimization is a Design study. The other two studies are the initial simulation studies.
The sample part includes two initial studies:
    • ReadyStatic. Includes alloy steel for the material, a 5e6 N/m^2 pressure, and a Fixed restraint as shown.

    • ReadyFrequency. Includes alloy steel for the material and a Fixed restraint as shown above.
  2. Click the ReadyStatic study tab, then, in the Simulation study tree right-click ReadyStatic and select Run .
The static analysis indicates a maximum von Mises stress (VON) of approximately 1.21e8 N/m^2 and a maximum displacement (URES) of approximately 0.08244 mm.
  3. Click the ReadyFrequency study tab, then, in the Simulation study tree right-click ReadyFrequency and select Run .
The frequency analysis indicates a fundamental frequency of approximately 366.01 Hz.
It is best practice to run the initial studies and get an estimate of the expected results. You can also select the extreme values for all model dimensions and run selected studies to make sure that there are no build errors.
