You activate the inertial relief functionality to prevent numerical
instability because of inadequate restraints and stabilize the model against rigid body
motions.
-
In the Simulation study tree, right-click the Partial study
and select Properties.
-
In the dialog box, on the Options tab,
under
Solver, select Use inertial relief.
If a model is not adequately restrained, a small force can
cause a rigid body motion. Even in cases when the applied forces are balanced, a
small unbalanced force can result from numerical approximation. When you
activate Use inertial relief, the program
automatically applies forces to counteract unbalanced external loading. You do
not need to apply restraints in this case.
-
Under Solver, for Selection,
click Automatic.

Click OK.
