Defining an SN Curve for the Material of the Part

  1. In the TopFace fatigue study tree, right-click ride-on and select Apply Fatigue Data to All Bodies .
  2. On the Fatigue SN Curves tab:
    1. Under the Source box, set Interpolate to Semi-log.
    2. Under the Table data box, set Stress Ratio (R) to 0.25.
    3. Under the Table data box, set Units (for Alternating Stress) to psi.
    4. Define the SN curve data as follows.
      Cycles Alternating stress (psi)
      2000 80000
      5000 60000
      20000 45000
      40000 35000
      70000 30000
      100000 25000
      500000 12000
      2000000 10000
      1.00E+08 8000
    5. Click Apply.
You can also load the SN curve from the curve database library cosmosworks curves.cwcur located in drive letter:\CWLang\language.
In the Material dialog box, on the Fatigue SN Curves tab do the following:
    1. Under the Source box, set Interpolate to Semi-log.
    2. Click File and open the curve library cosmosworks curves.cwcur.
    3. In the Function Curves dialog box, expand S-N Curve and select Ride-On SN-Curve.
    4. Click OK twice.
