Viewing Stress Results on Top Faces

It is important to view stress results on both top and bottom faces of the shell model.

  1. In the Simulation study tree, open the Results folder.
  2. Double-click Stress1 (-vonMises-) to display the plot.

    If the plot does not exist, create the plot using one of the methods in steps 3, 4, or 5.

  3. Optional: To add a plot:
    1. Right-click the Results folder and select Define type of plot Plot.
    2. Set the options in the PropertyManager and click .
  4. Optional: To add a von Mises stress plot using English units for a static study:
    1. Right-click the Results folder and select Define Stress Plot .
    2. Under Display, select VON: von Mises Stress in Component .
    3. Under Display, select psi in Units .
    4. Click .
  5. Optional: To add a thermal plot displaying temperature in Celsius for a thermal study:
    1. Right-click the Results folder and select Define Thermal Plot .
    2. Under Display, select TEMP: Temperature in Component .
    3. Under Display, select Celsius in Units .
    4. Click .
  6. Rename the plot to Top von Mises in the Simulation study tree.
    By default, the equivalent stress plot on the top shell faces is shown.
