You can use several methods for selecting elements in a
model.
Box Selection
lets you select entities in parts,
assemblies, and drawings by dragging the selection box with the pointer.
- When you drag the selection box from left to right, a blue box
appears selecting only entities inside the box.
- When you drag the selection box from right to left, a green box
appears selecting only items crossing the box boundaries.

Lasso Selection
lets you select items in the graphics
area with a lasso. You can lasso-select items in sketches, drawings, parts, and assemblies.
- When you drag the lasso selection loop counterclockwise, a green
lasso appears selecting entities in the lasso loop and items crossing the lasso
loop.
- When you drag the lasso selection loop clockwise, a blue lasso
appears selecting only the items contained in the lasso loop.

Selection Filters
help you select specific types of
items in the graphics area or drawing sheet. You can change the display of the Selection
Filter toolbar by pressing F5.
