Compare Geometry Report

Now that you selected the display options for the Compare Geometry report, you can generate the report.

1. Click Save report in the Compare Task Pane.
2. In the dialog box:
   1. Type a name for Report folder name.
      The location where the report will be saved appears in Report folder path.
   2. Click Browse to change the location.
   3. Select View report on save.
   4. Click Save.
      The Compare Geometry Report opens in a browser in HTML format, and the report is saved in the location chosen in step b. The report lists the following:

      • Face comparison (unique and modified faces)
      • Volume comparison (material removed and added, and common volumes)
      • Mass properties (surface area, volume, and center of gravity)
      • Model check (displays the check statuses)
      • Modified faces (perimeter, loops, edges, and so on)
      • Model views (current, bottom, and isometric)
      • Options used (Perform face comparison, Perform volume comparison, tolerances, and so on)

   Option	Description
   Check documents before Compare Geometry	Checks the geometry of both documents before performing a comparison. When you select this check box, SOLIDWORKS Utilities runs the SOLIDWORKS Check function to find invalid surfaces and edges.
   Perform face comparison	Compares the geometry of corresponding faces in the two parts.
   Perform volume comparison	Computes the volume differences and common volume of the two parts.

3. Close the browser.
4. Click Close in the Task Pane.
