First, you open a formed louver and add it to the Design Library as a forming tool.

Download and extract the sample files for this tutorial:

Browse to the Downloads folder and extract formtools.zip to a convenient location.
For example, to organize your tutorial sample
files, create a folder in your Documents folder named tutorial_files. Then extract into that folder to create
a subfolder named formtools that
contains the files you need.

Browse to the location where you
placed the formtools folder and open
formtools\sample_louver.SLDPRT.

The Design Library forming tools include a louver part. For
this tutorial, you add a preconfigured louver part to the Design Library
forming tools before forming the louver onto the cover.

Add the tutorial sample louver part to the Design Library
forming tools:

Right-click sample_louver
in the FeatureManager
design tree and click Add to
Library
.

In the PropertyManager, expand and click
.
If you are missing the Design Library folder, you can
add it manually by clicking
Add File
Location

in the Task Pane and
browsing to
drive
letter:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS version\design library in
the dialog box and then clicking
OK.

In the Task Pane, click the Design
Library
tab.

Navigate to the forming
tools folder.

Right-click the folder and click Forming Tools Folder. If Forming
Tools Folder is already selected, you can skip the last step.

If you are prompted to mark all subfolders to be marked as
forming tools folders, click Yes.

Close the sample_louver
part.
