Command -AM_Layergroup

Use the -AM_Layergroup command to manage layergroups and layergroup properties.

It is the command line variant of the AM_Layergroup command.

To manage layergroups and layergroup properties:

  1. Type AM_Layergroup at the command prompt.
  2. Specify an option:
    • Layergroup. Lets you create, delete, and rename layergroups and change layergroup properties.

      See Layergroup Options.

    • Entity keys. Lets you locate the layer assigned to an entity in the current layergroup and sets it as current.

      Specify the ? option to list entity types and entity keys.

  3. Press Enter

Note: You can use the -AM_Layergroup command transparently.

Layergroup Options

Column Description
? to list Shows a list of layergroups.
Make Creates a layergroup and makes it current. You are prompted to specify a layergroup name.
Set Specifies the layergroup to make current. You are prompted to specify the layergroup name. You cannot make current a frozen layergroup.
New Creates a layergroup. You are prompted to specify a layergroup name.
Freeze Freezes layergroups, making entities on them invisible.
Thaw Thaws frozen layergroups, which makes objects on them visible and available for plotting.
Lock Locks layergroups which prevents editing of entities on them.
Unlock Unocks layergroups which allows editing of entities on them.
LColor Changes the LineColors associated with layergroups. You are prompted to specify a color name or color number.
LStyle Changes the LineStyle associated with layergroups.
LWeight Changes the LineWeight associated with layergroups.
Rename Renames alayer group. You are prompted to specify the layergroup to rename and a new name.
Selection set Selects all the entities on the specified layergroup as part of a selection set. Use the Previous option when promted to specify entities in a subsequent editing command to apply the selection set.
Highlight Highlights all entities on the layers you specify.
