Using Custom Reports in the Template Editor

You can use custom reports that you previously created in Microsoft® Excel® in the Template Editor.

To use custom reports in the Template Editor:

  1. In Microsoft Excel, save the report as an Excel Template (.xltx) format.
  2. In SOLIDWORKS Inspection, click File > Template Editor.
  3. In the Select an inspection sheet template dialog box, open the template.
  4. In the SOLIDWORKS Inspection Template Editor dialog box, specify options and click Finished.
    You must use the SOLIDWORKS GD&T font file in case you have imported templates from a machine that does not have SOLIDWORKS Inspection installed. To install the GD&T font file, contact your Value Added Reseller (VAR).
  5. In the Save your inspection template dialog box, enter data and click Save.
  6. In SOLIDWORKS Inspection, click Excel (Home ribbon) or File > Publish > Excel.
  7. In the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, on the Export to Excel tab, under Templates, click .
  8. In the Open dialog box, open the template.
  9. In the Properties/Preferences PropertyManager, on the Export to Excel tab, click .
