In ECAD and MCAD collaboration workflows, SOLIDWORKS now generates IDX
files with standardized names that comply with the IDX specification. This ensures better
alignment with ECAD tools
and
improves clarity when managing shared files.
An IDX
collaboration workflow includes three types of files:
- Baseline
- Change (Increment)
- Response
SOLIDWORKS
now applies standard naming conventions to each of these file
types
using the format
BoardName_Baseline_YYYYMMDDTHHMMSS.idx.
For example:
Test1_Baseline_20250516T110954.idx
SOLIDWORKS stores the generated
.idx files in the
EDMDCommon folder after a crash or
restart. This applies to both SOLIDWORKS Desktop and SOLIDWORKS Connected workflows.
