Diagnostic Tools

A set of diagnostic tools helps you identify issues with a study’s setup before you run a simulation.

To access the Diagnostic tools:

From the Simulation CommandManager, click Diagnostic Tools .

Diagnostic Tool Description
Underconstrained Bodies Detects the bodies of a part or assembly that are not sufficiently constrained during a simulation and can exhibit rigid body modes.
Simulation Evaluator Inspects a study's setup to determine if the setup is optimal for a successful simulation.
Interaction Viewer Calculates all areas with interaction definitions between the selected components and renders them with a unique color according to the interaction type.
Mesh Failure Diagnostics Identifies geometry entities that failed to mesh and helps you resolve issues with solid mesh.
Mesh Quality Diagnostics Identifies poor-quality mesh elements based on a defined criterion.
Convergence Check Plot Detects regions of the model where the solver has encountered contact convergence issues.
Stress Hot Spot Diagnostics Detects regions of the model where stress gradients between adjacent elements are irregular. In certain cases, these irregular high stress gradients can be attributed to stress singularities.
