Inserting 3DEXPERIENCE Components Into SOLIDWORKS Assemblies 3DEXPERIENCE users can insert 3DEXPERIENCE components into SOLIDWORKS assemblies as 3DEXPERIENCE components. To insert 3DEXPERIENCE components into SOLIDWORKS assemblies: Open a SOLIDWORKS assembly. In the 3DEXPERIENCE panel, search for the component, then drag it into the assembly. The software inserts the component as a 3DEXPERIENCE component. To edit the 3DEXPERIENCE component, you need to create a derived part from it. Optional: To create a derived part in the context of the assembly: In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click the component and select Create Derived Part. In the Create Derived Part dialog box, enter a Title and click Create. Click Save. In the FeatureManager design tree, the 3DEXPERIENCE component icon changes to a SOLIDWORKS part icon. The 3DEXPERIENCE component is a child of the SOLIDWORKS part. MySession shows SOLIDWORKS as the CAD Format. You can also save to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform whenever you want after you create the derived part. Parent topicAssemblies Derived Parts
