Cable Management

Cable management groups all the cables used in the electrical project.

To open Cable Management, do one of the following:
  • Click Electrical Project > Cables .
  • In the dockable panel, right-click an electrical project and click Electrical project > Cable management .

Cables appear in a list that you can filter according to your needs. You can arrange the information on the cable Origin or Destination and using the reservations made in the line diagram. For more information, see Reserving Cables.

You can modify the list content by editing the properties of the cables.

The following commands are available:
Command Description
New Cable Opens the cable catalog where you can select the references you need to add to the electrical project. For more information, see
Delete Deletes the selected cables. A cable is not deleted if its cores are in use.
Properties Shows the properties of the selected cable. If you select several cables, the Properties dialog box displays only the common properties. For more information, see
Duplicate Copies individual or multiple cables including all their associated properties such as part and function path. The mark is automatically incremented.
Replace Replaces the selected cable with another from the catalog. The new cable must have at least as many cores as the cable being replaced.
Switch Switches the origin and destination of the selected cable.
Dissociate cable core Disconnects the selected cable cores.
Switch cable cores Swaps two selected cable cores. Ensure that at least one core is connected to wires. After the swap, the app automatically reassigns wires to the cores.

You can switch cable cores having different types or properties.

Undo Cancels the last command used.
Redo Cancels the result of the last Undo command used.
Go to drawing Navigates to the schematic where the cable or core is placed.
Go to browser Opens the component browser and highlights the cable’s origin component.
Tree mode Manages the type of display for the cables list. The cables are grouped by function or by origin or destination.
Filters Enables the Filter tab to filter the list of circuits.
Pre-reserved cables Automatically hides all cables except those that have been reserved.
Some of these features accept the multi-selection, such as Delete or Properties.

Filters

This tab lets you filter the cable list. All filter criteria are the same as those present in the cable properties. The right side of the dialog box displays the cable list corresponding to the selected criteria.

Click Remove filters to remove all filter criteria.
